Fitness2Live

Fitness2live joined Accelerator in October, 2006 as a virtual incubator and moved into the premises in April, 2007. The company specialises in providing personalised, health and wellbeing support services to their online members.

 

Working in Accelerator and being associated with the University brought many advantages for Fitness2live, including support from management to ‘reality check’ many ideas, models and plans. Fitness2live were provided with information on relevant funding, which was particularly helpful during the first 12months of the new business. Accelerator supported Fitness2live staff with very relevant and efficient staff training courses and provided access to office space and meeting rooms. An additional benefit was the in-house IT support, which adds great value to the Accelerator business offering.

Fitness2live demonstrated their progress in the business incubator winning ‘Best First Year Business’ at Accelerator in 2007 and ‘Accelerator Business of the Year’ in 2009. Accelerator also assisted Fitness2live gain contracts with Government, corporate and community based organisations throughout the UK. A Jumpstart grant and Secondment into Knowledge grant were also awarded to Fitness2live. Fitness2live were then acquired in October 2009 by McKesson, who specialise in disease management and triage, providing services and products throughout the health care system.
