Richard Farleigh to Host KEEN Angels
Richard Farleigh, best known as Mr Nice from BBC’s Dragons’ Den has been announced as the guest host for this year’s KEEN (The Knowledge East Enterprise Network) Angels Live Pitch and Investment Project.
KEEN Angels is a chance for students and graduates from each of the 9 universities who form the KEEN partnership to put forward their business ideas in a bid to gain financial investment. The universities taking part are London Metropolitan University, Goldsmiths University of London, London South Bank University, Rose Bruford College, Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, Queen Mary University of London, University of Greenwich, Trinity Laban College of Music and Dance and University of East London.
The final part of the project is a live pitch event in true Dragons’ Den style, which will be held at Arsenal Emirates Stadium and hosted by Richard Farleigh on Wednesday 30 June. The 6 finalists will present their pitch live to a panel of Angel Investors, in front of a 200-strong audience, in order to persuade the Angels to invest in their business. There is also the chance to win the audience prize of £1000, which will be voted for
live during the evening by the audience members.
KEEN is a network of 8 universities who all work together to support and encourage student enterprise. The KEEN Angels project is a unique way to bring entrepreneurial students from these different universities and have them work together whilst competing for the ultimate prize – money for their business.
Matthew Connelly, Student Enterprise Development Manager at London Metropolitan University, said: “We are delighted to have someone of Richard’s calibre to be hosting our event. It confirms that we are leaders in student enterprise and can attract those who have achieved such a high status in the world of business into our network.”
Tickets to attend this event are free and can be booked online via the KEEN website at www.keenstudents.com/news. Spaces are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.
