During the credit crunch it has proven vital that companies stay on top of their business practices, whatever size they are. Dan Matthews from LaunchLab.co.uk and writer for newspapers such as Financial Times and Guardian, has recently published a book which could help Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) do just that.

 

The book, titled The New Rules of Business, contains more than 30 insightful chapters based on interviews with top entrepreneurs, politicians, and senior lobbyists. Matthews interviewed the likes of Michelle Dewberry – winner of the second Apprentice Series, Sarah Beeney – property entrepreneur and television presenter, Kanya King – founder of the MOBO Awards, and business tycoon Peter Jones – who is well known for his appearances on the BBC Two show Dragons’ Den.

 

 

There is a separate part in the book dedicated to The Rules – presenting insightful knowledge as well as fantastic tips and business advise covering the experiences of the more than 1,000 entrepreneurs whom Matthews met whilst researching the book. Within The Rules you can learn more about common business issues such as marketing, pr, family businesses and leadership. However, maybe most importantly… you can learn how to deal with recessions and take advantage of those purely lucky once-in-a-lifetime business opportunities.
