Award Winning Student Millionaire to visit London Metropolitan University
Fraser Doherty, a young entrepreneur from Edinburgh & CEO of the rapidly expanding jam company SuperJam Ltd which sells a range of '100% Pure Fruit' jams, will be visiting London Metropolitan University to talk on how he went from humble beginnings of making jam in his parents kitchen, to seeing his product on every major supermarket shelf within a year of distribution.
Forbes magazine recently valued SuperJam Ltd at up to $2 million based on its current sales revenue of $1 million. Fraser has also won an array of awards including the Nectar Business Entrepreneur of the Year (2009), Ernst&Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist (2009) and Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year (2007).
Fraser will be taking us through his incredible entrepreneurial journey from such a young age and offering advice to those seeking to do the same.
This event is to mark the end of the annual London Metropolitan University Student Business Plan Competition, which encourages students to submit their business idea for a chance to win the lucrative £5000 top prize to help kick-start their business.
Six finalists have been chosen from the mounds of first round concepts submitted and have gone on to formulate their idea through an intensive 3-day Boot Camp where they were given the skills to prepare their full Business Plan. The finalists then had to pitch their idea “Dragons’ Den” style to a panel of external business judges in the live final.
Fraser will be announcing the winners and handing out the cheques to London Met’s own student entrepreneurs during the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 27 April, from 6pm at The Graduate Centre, Tower Building, London Metropolitan University North Campus, Holloway Road.
